Royal wedding fashion

We couldn´t just stand aside and be indifferent:) Those interested, have probably seen enough of wedding photos: clothes and mostly hats, those not interested do not care anyway. So we thought to share a bit of wedding fashion - wedding dresses that princesses of different countries wore on ´that most important day´ of their lives. Look at these dresses to get inspired for a similar look for your own wedding (or maybe not:).

First comes a doubtless symbol of style and chic, Grace Kelly who in 1956 got married with Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Her wedding gown looks elegant and modern (in 2011 just as 50 years ago) and somehow heavenly with that lace and big full skirt. By the way that dress was made by MGM´s award-winning dress designer Helen Rose. We could say ´Yes!´in this dress, as well. Yes, we could:)

Prince Joachim of Denmark married his bride Marie Cavallier of France in 2008. In case you want a similar dress from the designer, you should turn to Spanish-Italian fashion house Arasa Morelli.

Belgium´s Crown Prince Phillipe, the Duke of Brabant married Countess Mathilde d´Udekem d´Acoz in 1999. This elegant dress, designed by Edouard Vermeulen of the fashion House Natan might look a bit outdated and somewhat grown-up, yet it is graceful with a royal feeling.

Cinderella vice-versa: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden married her former personal trainer Daniel Westling in 2010. This simple and beautiful gown was created by a swedish designer Par Engsheden.

Danish Crown Prince Fredrik married australian born Mary Elizabeth Donaldson in 2004 whom he met over drinks during Sydney Olympics. Here she wears an ivory satin gown by a danish designer Uffe Frank.

Prince Willem-Alexander took Argentine investment banker Maxima Zorreguieta's hand in marriage in 2002. For this important event she chose a sophisticated creation by Valentino.

Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon married Mette - Marit Tjessem Højby (a journalist and a single mother of one) in 2001. Her wedding gown simple, yet stylish in scandinavian way, was made by a Norwegian designer Ove Harder Finseth.

Haakon's sister Martha Louise Princess of Norway married a writer Ari Michael Behn in 2002. She wore a classical royal wedding gown designed by Wenche Lynche.

Prince Nikolaos, the second son of the former King of Greece, has married his longtime sweetheart, Tatiana Blatnik in 2010. The Venezuelan born Russian-Jewish event- planner Tatiana became a princess in an Angel Sanches creation.

Just outside Europe, in Yemen Prince (now the king) Abdullah II married Rania al Yassin of Palestinian origin in 1993. Now one of the 100 most influential and not least fashionable women in the world, wore a modern gown (for the time of course:) with an oriental touch by a british designer Bruce Oldfield.

Yet another journalist marrying a prince. The Crown Prince of Spain Felipe married Letizia Ortiz in 2004. A stunning Letizia wore a matching stunner gown by Spaniard Manuel Pertegaz.

The princess of all princesses, late Lady Diana who married British Crown Prince Charles in 1981, had probably the most memorable wedding of all times. Her controversial but iconic wedding dress was designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel.

And last but not least the modern bride-princess, whose dress is surely going to be copied by 100s of brides all over the world -  the newly-wed Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William. Her Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton has wowed many, among them rival design houses, such as Chanel and Versace.

What shall we say? It´s half the job to choose the right man, you should also be able to choose the right wedding dress. Kate succeeded in both, and a large fat 10 for that to her from us :D

The Royal Wedding Official Photographs...

The Royal Wedding of William and Kate yesterday was breathtakingly beautiful. Here are just a selection of my favourite official photographs. In my opinion Kate looked absolutely stunning, and the dress was beautiful. Who can can wrong with a McQueen!

This wedding really did make me feel proud to be British! I want to wish William and Kate all the best for the future and hope they live a long and happy life together.

What did you think of the wedding?
