United colours of Benetton known for controversial campaigns launched yet another reason for discussion and controversy. The Italian company started a foundation based on the UNHate campaign. The idea behind the campaing is to show world political leaders -opponents united in affectionate kiss and fight the ´culture of hatred´.
´These are symbolic images of reconciliation - with a touch of ironic hope and constructiveprovocation - to stimulate reflection on how politics, faith and ideas,even when they are divergent and mutually opposed, must still lead to dialogue and mediation´, as Alessandro Benetton stated in the press release about launching the campaign.
It´s up to you to judge if it´s right to manipulate pictures of world leaders in this way. Or how moral it is to picture the Pope in this way. In any case we like the non-standard idea, and the fact that a retailer brand is involved itself in important social issues.
